Material and moral damages from torts and traffic accidents, damages for breach of contract.
A person who causes damage to another through an unlawful and culpable act must compensate it (Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098, Art. 49). Besides material damage, moral damages may be claimed where personality rights are infringed (Arts. 56, 58).

Limitation period
Claims arising from a tort are time-barred two years after the injured party learns of the damage and the liable person, and in any case ten years after the act (Code of Obligations Art. 72). If the act also constitutes a crime, the longer limitation period under criminal law applies.
The accident report, medical reports, invoices and receipts are the key evidence of damage; keep the originals.
